Competition Teams

Attendance

To be on the competition team, you must be to all regular class time practices, all extra practices, all performances, and all competitions.  Our competition dances have a lot of partner work and lifts.  If you are not there, it hurts everyone.  So please try your best to be there every week and be on time.

Dress

Pajama pants and street clothes are not permitted.  Dance shoes must be worn at all times.  Socks do not count as dance shoes.  No jewelry, and hair must be up and out of your face.

Costumes and Team wear

You will be buying 2-3 costumes depending on what team you're on.  You will pay the $35 costume deposit upfront for your first costume at the time of registration.  That does not pay for your entire costume.  Plan on around $60 total. Your second costume will need to be paid for by January.

We also have team jackets.  They cost $55.  Shoes will vary depending on what our costumes are for the year.  I will let you know what you need when I get ready to make my shoe order.

Competitions

We will compete in 2-3 competitions starting in March and ending in May.  Please plan to attend all competitions.  I will give you as much notice as possible so you can get them on your calendars.  Entry fees vary depending on the competition.  If you are competiting a solo, duet, or trio, I need to know by Oct. 1st so we can get your routines learned and perfected.

Extras

It is highly recommended that all competition team members take a ballet class.  We are suggesting this because it is where all of them are lacking in their dance training.  After talking to other studio owners, they are all requiring the same things from their competitive teams.  I want to help your dancers to become the best they can be, and I feel this will be a tremendous help in getting them there.
